Capturing
More Than Just A Likeness
Patti has the ability to look through her camera lens and
distill people to their essential elements. An upturned eyebrow.
An uncontrollable giggle. A certain turn of the head. Patti
seeks to photograph something much more special than the average
portrait. She shoots people, faces, and relationships in their
native environment in order to capture the very essence of
each individual.
Unlike
many photographers who are known for their distinctive style,
Patti adapts her style to suit each new subject. She strives
to make every photo shoot natural and comfortable so that
the moments caught on film are real and organic.
Patti
selects her subjects carefully, but doesn't limit her range
of options. She takes her camera from third-world countries
to cutting-edge corporate clients, to the studios of painters
and musicians and friends.
Among
her influences, photographer greats such as Annie Leibovitz,
Herb Ritts, Matthew Rolston, Robert Frank, Paul Strand,
and Dorothea Lange.
